RECYCLING INDUSTRY APPOINTS FORMER MINISTER AS CEO

The Australian Council of Recyclers (ACOR) today announced the appointment of former senior Queensland Government Minister, Rod Welford, as its new national Chief Executive.

Announcing the part-time appointment today, ACOR President, Mike Haywood, said it reflected the Council’s desire to bring more high-level environmental policy expertise to the peak-body organisation.

RECYCLING INDUSTRY CALLS FOR BETTER TV RECYCLING
The Australian Council of Recyclers (ACOR) has called on the Federal Government to implement the rollout of the national product stewardship scheme for TV’s in line with the introduction of digital tv networks.

ACOR Chief Executive, Rod Welford, said the phase out of the anologue tv network will see tens of thousands of CRT televisions thrown away.

Outgoing ACOR President Calls on Industry to Engage

President of the Australian Council of Recycling, Mike Haywood, has stepped down after two years as president of the Council.

“It is consequence of the new direction that I am taking as an independent consultant,” Mr Haywood said. Haywood has recently launched his own consulting business after leaving ResouceCo in Adelaide.
