Sell and
Parker’s primary business is scrap steel collection, processing and
recycling. Scrap is sourced from building demolitions, industrial
operations and deliveries to our yard. We sell the bulk of our
processed material to the Smorgon Steel minimill at Newcastle, where we
are one of three accredited suppliers. The company also supplies a
number of Sydney foundries with special grades of scrap steel.
Sell and
Parker which was established in 1964 operates Australia’s most modern
scrap shearing yards from its freehold properties at Waterloo and
Blacktown.
The
company has been operating at 15 Amelia Street Waterloo for 30 years
and was completely redeveloped in 1990.
In 1997,
Sell and Parker opened Australia’s most modern greenfield recycling
facility on seven acres of land at 45-55 Tattersall Road Blacktown. The
operation is closely situated to Sydney’s major freeways, the M2 and
M4. In July 2002, a new state of the art scrap fragmentizer was
installed at the Blacktown yard. This machine has the capability to
shred and sort whole cars, whitegoods, and other scrap from landfills
and consequently has greatly expanded the company’s capabilities.
Non-ferrous (i.e. copper, brass, aluminium etc) recycling operations
also operate from our Waterloo and Blacktown facilities. We supply
local users and the export market. Sell and Parker also trades as
Precision Oxycut. This operation use oxygen and plasma technologies to
cut steel profiles to customer specification. 120 different grades and
thicknesses of steel plate are stocked which enables us to offer rapid
deliveries to our customers. The operation recently moved to a new
purpose built factory in Smithfield.
Sell and
Parker is an active member of the Australian Metal Recycling Industry
Association (AMRIA), the Australian Industry (AI) and the Institute of
Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI).
